Nissan Opens Advanced Green R & D Center
Nissan Motor Co. is playing serious catch up to Toyota and Honda in the green machine field and safety.
This week the automaker opened an R&D center (Nissan Advanced Technology Center) for cutting-edge environmental and safety technologies.
The "NATC is part of the automaker's 90 billion yen investment in strengthening and expanding its R&D facilities."
At the NATC's 118,000 sq meter facility, employing as many as 2,000 engineers, Nissan hopes to develop advanced technologies for electric cars and next-generation vehicles…but NOT the fuel-cell car. R&D for that technology is done elsewhere.
How long do you think it will take for Nissan to catch up with Toyota and Honda in the green field?
