Japanese Electronic Giant Akai Relaunched In India
The Japanese electronic and consumer appliance company, Akai, has been relaunched in India once again. It has been a couple of years that the company was struggling really hard to make its mark in the Indian market. But the Global Brands Enterprise, Chief Pranay Dhabhai, has promoted in partnership with Haier to relaunch the company in India.
Mr. Dhabhai stated, that, “We have exclusive licensing and distribution in the subcontinent, which include the countries India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh.” After the lapse of the license with Videocon, Global has bagged Akai as a licensed partner.
Akai had an annual turnover of Rs. 275 Crore in the last financial year. Mr. Dhabhai has said that they would be aiming to get a turnover of at least Rs. 475 Crore in the next year. The company which had its products basically limited to television, will now be launching in the range of DVD players, LED and LCD TV’s, microwaves, washing machines etc.
