India’s largest private telecom provider, Bharti Airtel, has announced that it will be launching the iPhone 4 in India by October this year. The product is the latest gadget by Apple, and has sadly been shrouded in controversies since last month.

Bharti spokesperson, Sanjay Kapoor, told the reporters in a meeting, that Airtel would be working with Apple, and together would bring the latest gadget into the country by the period of September or October this year. Vodafone earlier this year, had promised that it would be bringing the iPhone in India, but did not disclose the time when it would.

After the launch the gadget would be sold at two different prices, the 16GB iPhone would be costing around Rs.35,500 and the 32GB model would be sold at Rs.41,500. On the other hand, as the 3G services would be commencing in the country by the end of this year, the sale on these products would be increased by the following year.
