Will Pietersen be able to rise to the occasion?

Dr. Vijay Mallya — the owner of the Bangalore Royal Challengers pocketed a major talent in the form of Kevin Pietersen during the IPL auctions.

However, this didn’t come cheap — the club had to spend nearly $1.55 to seek the services of the former English skipper.

Now, the onus is on KP to deliver.

The expectations are sky-high and everyone supporting the RC expects him to take their team through to the semi-finals, at least. During the series against the West Indies, it was evident that KP was distracted and looked out-of-form.

Will he be able to substantiate his presence as the most highly-paid IPL acquisition?
