Rajasthan Royals: Will Warne’s Bang-It Theory Work Again?

Shane Warne created a new bowler out of Munaf Patel in the first season of the IPL, by making Munaf repeatedly hit-the-deck and keeping it short outside the off-stump.

This season too, the Rajasthan Royals have their share of bowlers who are going to be very effective at repeating the same strategy in the form of — Shane Harwood, Watson, Siddharth Trivedi and Tyron Henderson.

However, on pitches where batsmen are expecting the ball to rise to decent heights and are ready to wait on the backfoot, will such tactics work again?

The chances of that happening are rather slim as most teams are aware of what Warne would be trying to do, having faced the sweet chin music in IPL 1.
