Nissan Motor Co. will partner up with its parent Renault SA and Indian Motorcycle maker Bajaj Auto Ltd to develop and produce and ultra-affordable car.

Renault and Bajaj have been talking about the project since July.

Commercial assembly is expected to begin in about 4 years.

Bajaj will supply the engine using its know-how in procuring cut-rate parts andtata.low.priced.car.jpg Renault's expertise will involve low-cost production.

I am not sure what Nissan will contribute…quality? safety? Japanese efficiency?

Tata Motors Ltd will start selling a car for about $2400 next month in India.

The $3,000 car….next market is Africa.
