Lower Scores for IPL2 Say Many Experts
This may be a bit of a dampener for folks who like the bowlers being slaughtered around by marauding batsmen in T20 games but the fact is that IPL could see low-scoring matches.
The reason lies in South Africa’s weather conditions that are typically a bit cloudy at this time of the year, making the pitches moisture-heavy.
Matches would see a lot of seam movement, particularly in the evenings, under lights.
In a way, this could make the matches more interesting as the slogging part of T20 was becoming a bit too familiar.
IPL1 saw an average score of about 154 per innings despite some games where the total match aggregate scores crossed 250.
IPL2 could be a lot different with lower scores and more closely-contested matches.
