IPL II Marks Its Beginning In South Africa

Thursday saw the first indication of something that is increasingly looking a fact — IPL II is not going to complain about the lack of spectator interest just because it is being held outside the Indian subcontinent.

 

The IPL II saga marked its commencement with a carnival that rocked the streets of South Africa with a blitzing ceremony that went through the city of Capetown.

 

Although, the first match and the official opening ceremony is scheduled for 17th April at Newlands, this carnival epitomized the cricket festiveness that has dawned upon the entire Protean nation.

 

The enthusiasm among the locals is very palpable and a flux of Bollywood stars from India will be there on Saturday to ensure that nobody can distant himself from the extravaganza that IPL promises to be.
