India’s Big Four Face the IPL Test

If the IPL 2008 season is anything to go by, then the Big Four of the Indian test batting, i.e. Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Saurav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid need to seriously improve upon their performances or they face being dropped from their squads.

While this doesn’t really apply to Tendulkar for many reasons — he is too good, not to score in this format and India as a nation won’t tolerate this iconic sports star to be dropped from any team.

Laxman had a horrible time last year, captaining the Deccan Chargers and one more failed season in IPL 2 would ensure that he isn’t picked for IPL 2010.

Ganguly faces a similar dilemma, but he is naturally more aggressive and talented to hit over the in-field than Dravid and Laxman.
