Australia ‘Save’ Face In The Last Game

It appears that Australia is now reeling under the kind of conditions they had been creating for their opponents for more than a decade.

 

A world champion team that used to blank-out its opponents, only to occasionally lose the last match of a series is now facing similar humiliation.

 

South Africa had the ongoing ODI series against Australia wrapped-up, so there wasn’t much to play for except maybe for some players who want to establish themselves in South African side.

 

Yes, Australia did manage to win the game but it wasn’t a very convincing win since apart from Gibbs, no other South African batsmen seemed inclined to play the match with the kind of intensity that was evident in the initial games of the series.
