NTT DoCoMo Phone Gives Users a Fitness Check
Yet another phone in Japan for the rest of the world, America included, to play catch up to.
NTT DoCoMo has introduced the prototype Wellness mobile phone.
The phone can check:
1. pulse
2. body fat
3. time your jogs
4. tell you if your breath stinks
5. calculate calories burned
6. assess stress levels
7. give you a pep talk (chin up!, tomorrow's another day!)![]()
The phone has an inbuilt motion sensor to detect body movement.
It can tell if you are walking, running, climbing stairs or resting.
It's like having a personal trainer with you all the time.
Of course, you can also listen to music through headphones.
Phone calls…oh, they might have forgotten that part.
The phone was developed by NTT DoCoMo and Mitsubishi Electric Co.
The phone is still being tested to keep track of meals and calculate calorific intake as well as networking capacity.
It has not been released…yet…and won't be available overseas.
Does this sound like something you'd like to have?
I'm on my way to the gym after I hit send and would like to take mine with me.
