Nintendo’s Wii Blamed for New Ailment – Wiiitis
It might be the only word in the English with the letter 'i' three times in a row. I don't know any that have two. I lived in a prefecture in Japan that when spelled out in English needed to i's. Niigata.
A doctor in Boston has discovered that too much playing with his Wii console can cause Wiiitis (wee eye tis).
Playing too much simulated tennis can cause aches and pains that require ibuprofen and abstinence…from the game…from the game…not from, well, you know.
It is easier to come down with Wiiitis because physical strength and endurance are not limiting factors. ![]()
Interestingly enough, it is not the first time that an ailment has been named from playing Nintendo. In 1990, a woman came down with Nintendinitis when her thumbs developed soreness after playing a Nintendo game for five hours straight.
Sony may be eating its heart out on this one, until, someone sues Nintendo for not putting warning labels on their games.
