Mitsubishi Electric Car’s iMiEV Gives 20-30% Boost
Mitsubishi Motors Corp. has a new battery that will allow its electric car model to run 20-30% longer on a new lithium ion battery.
The iMiEV was developed by a company established with GS Yuasa Corp. and Mitsubishi Corp.
The car can cover about 100 miles, up from 80mileish.
Electric companies are testing the iMiEV to use for business
activities in order to collect data on charging performance related to operation on the public streets.
Mitsubishi is cooperating with electric companies to position
electric cars alongside diesel automobiles and those that run on ethanol or blended fuels as a low-pollution alternative.
Commercialization in two-three years.
