Japanese Scientists Patent a Radiator for the Brain for use by Epileptics

Submitted by Bill Belew on Tuesday, 16 October 2007No Comment

Japanese scientists have developed a radiator for the brain…and now they are patenting it.

The radiator will cool and calm over-heated brains of people who don't use them very often or who blow a gasket by thinking too hard. Uh, no…the radiator is for epileptics and it was created by Yamaguchi University.

Apparently when a severe epileptic fit occurs brain cells fire more quickly causing more brain cells to do the same.

A little gizmo can be surgically buried into the skull for topically cooling the brain.

It's a "metal plate or wire buried into the skull and a heat pipe connected to a radiator outside the skull which allows the heat to dissipate."

And in the winter, it needs antifreeze…and for some of my types…I need something to keep my brain from freezing up anytime.brain.radiator.jpg

Is there such a thing as an all season antifreeze? Overheat fluid?

Great news for epileptics by the way, eh?
