Hardness Scale Good for Teeth
In April, a group of five confectionary wholesale vendors will start applying a sticker on rice cracker packages, that rates the hardness level of the crackers,
Okashi Market Place devised the labels along with Wayo Women's University Prof. Yukie Yanagisawa.
Although the 5-level scale can prevent tooth accidents, that’s not the main reason for the labels.
Okashi Market Place President Masayuki Sugita says the label is an added value feature so consumers can choose a crunchiness that suits their preference.
At least 12 more manufacturers say they’ll follow the sticker standards.
How hard do you like your crackers?
Woof woof!
