Cell Phones Morph into High Resolution Cameras

Submitted by Bill Belew on Thursday, 1 November 2007No Comment

Japanese cell phones have morphed into high resolution cameras…or have their cameras also become cell phones?

Casio Computer Co is Japan's first mobile phone using a digital camera trademark in its name.

The Exilim-Keitai W53CA - it has 5.15 million effective pixels, the highest yet.

It doesn't receive terrestrial digital TV broadcasts but it can take a great picture…leaving us to believe the Japanese would rather take pictures on their camera and watch TV on the big screen rather than the other way around.

The Casio phone can also correct image blur caused by hand movements in six directions.

It can also take better self-portrait pix by allowing objectscasio.camera.phone.jpg on the right and left to be shown…thanks to a 28mm wide-angle lens.

It also has a 2.8 inch LCD screen and 16x HD zoom capability, weighing in at 121 grams.

Women in their 20s are the target market.

Y15,000.

What do you want your cell phone/camera to be able to do?
