Yamaha Corp. says it will increase the number of music classrooms in China to 40 classrooms and the number of piano, guitar and other instruments to 10,000 by 2010.

If goals are met, Yamaha will see revenue grow by 9% to 590 billion yen and profits surge by 73% to 46 billion.

Yamaha has six teaching locations in Shanghai where the company first opened operations 2 years ago.

Yamaha has its eyes on the growing personal incomes of the Chinese. The company also hopes to increase revenue from sales of its musical instruments.

Cars are not the only quality items that Japan can produce.

But, I wonder how much Yamaha has to teach China when it comes to music?

Chinese music is second to none, I think.

What do you think?
