Women are banned from entering the sumo ring in Japan.

It has never happened…is not supposed to happen…

Could have something to do with women not wanting to wear the sumo belt and having certain body parts being exposed.

I think that if the right woman were to wear the sash and volunteer to make an appearance…sumo wrestlers, judges and spectators might reconsider…but that's another story.

A middle-aged woman tried to enter…from the pic it looks like she succeeded. But…sumo officials are saying she didn't make it in because a referee and a wrestler prevented her from doing so.

The pic says otherwise.

What do you think? 

And…what difference would it make?

Maybe…had she been twenty years younger and wearing just the belt…
