One country has already accumulated 1.35 billion blog articles.

One country is home to about 37% of the approximately 70 million blogs, active or otherwise.

Some 30.9% of this country’s blogs were for self-expression – think diaries.

Another 25.7% were community-type blogs – think people looking for friends with common interests.bloggers.japan.jpg

Archive blogs – accounted for 25%. Think users organizing and releasing information related to a common interest.

Two in five bloggers in this country were in their teens and 20s.

Just less than one in five (3 million blogs) were updated at least monthly.

Some 400K-500K new blogs appeared each month.

Readers posted 1.5 comments per article.

Ah..and about 12% of the blogs with monthly postings were “spam blogs.”

Spammers want people to buy something (38%), click through (17.1%) or were adult or matchmaking sites (7%).

The country…Japan.

English blogs were second at 36%. Chinese blogs were 3rd at 8%.
