What We Know about Oligoastrocytoma
There’s not much the layman knows or understands about Oligoastrocytoma.
Oligoastrocytomas are a subset of brain tumor.
Oligoastrocytomas make up about 2.3% of all brain tumors.
Oligoastrocytomas hit people at an average age of 42-years old. (Too late for me, whew!)
The symptoms of Oligoastrocytomas are headache, seizure and speech or motor changes.
Oligoastrocytoma must be diagnosed by bipopsy.
Oligoastrocytoma must be removed withouth disturbing other parts of the brain.
Chemotherapy and radiation therapy is used also.
Survival time for patients with Oligoastrocytoma is undetermined but depends on the age and low-grade initial diagnosis.
51-year old Seve Ballesteros has oligoastrocytoma and must undergo another operation. Ballesteros was/is a very popular golfer in Japan where not enough work gets done to keep the Japanese economy humming.
Ballesteros won a record 50 tournaments on the European Tour, but it didn’t keep him from being popular worldwide.
