Japansas – Valentine’s Day in Japan
Valentine's Day in Japan is one sided.
Men do NOT buy chocolate or flowers or diamonds, anything, for their girl friends or wives.
Only the women buy gifts…for their husbands, lovers, boyfriends, friends who are boys, colleagues, ski team members…all of them.
Yup, the poor woman has to buy 'giri choko' or obligation chocolate to all the men in her life whether she has feelings for them or not.![]()
That's just the way things are. It's kind of like when you were in kindergarten and your mom made you give valentine's day cards to everyone in the class whether you 'liked' him/her or not.
Except in Japan…the woman only does the buying.
Unfair!
Not really… a month later, March 15th, ALL these people give something back on a Japan invented "white day." More on that next month.
That may be changing, however. Women are starting to pamper themselves, nobody will buy it for them, by taking chocolate baths, wearing chocolate or buying hotel packages for over $400 to color themselves chocolate.
If a guy wants to make out…( I mean get some chocolate…) be working somewhere, belong to as many clubs as possible on/before Feb. 14th in Japan. After receiving gifts, skip out before March 15th.
Japansas….Japan is not Kansas, is it?
What do you think?
