The slowdown of the U.S. economy is affecting on Japanese truckmaker. Which, in turn, will give workers less to do, causing job cut backs, which, in turn…well, you get the idea.

Toyota Motor Corp will start cutting production of its Tundra pickup truck and Sequoia sport-utility vehicle. The two vehicles are made in Texas and Indiana.

The reason – sluggish sales due to high gasoline prices and the general slowdown of the U.S. economy.

Toyota will announce how much they will rein in production by the end of this week.

In the meantime, we wonder, why such trucks and SUVs are made in the first place.
