TV Personality Wins Gubernatorial Election

The governor of Miyazaki prefecture resigned after he was arrested for alleged involvement in a public works bid-rigging scheme.

The ruling Liberal Democratic Party field two candidates, ex-bureaucrats as candidates, but both lost to the independent Sonomama Higashi. (Sonomama is – just like it is).

Miyazaki is a traditionally conservative prefecture but…not so any more…as the people's distrust of political parties deepens. arnold.jpg

Some things are the same everywhere – people not trusting politicians that is.

Countries where ex-pro wrestlers and movie stars become governors will not be surprised by this turn of events.

What do you think?
