TV Announcer Leaps to Her Death
A 43-year young Japanese female TV announcer committed suicide by leaping to her death from a condo where she lived in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo.
Her body was found by a passer-by. A suicide note was left. The announcer was undergoing treatment for an undisclosed disease since giving birth last year.
Equally sad….perhaps moreso…I was eating lunch with a Japanese friend. She told me that a very close friend of her daughter (16-years very young) committed suicide a couple of days ago.
The little girl's parents went through a divorce. She opted to live with her father who remarried rather quickly. Step-mom and and step daughter couldn't get along.
Real father offered no support.
The little girl was found hanging in her bedroom.
My wife remarked – if someone is brave enough to take their life, they should be brave enough to continue to live it.
Apparently not.
