Top Ten Robots in Japan

Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has selected the top ten finalists for the 2006 Robot award.

The robots fall into four categories – service, industrial, public sector and small-to-medium sized venture robots.

There are robots that look like seals that are supposed to have theraeutic properties.

Another is a meal assistance robot called My Spoon.

There is a robot that cleans buildings, one with arms like a human, a verification robot, a deep-sea autonomous underwater submarine and more.
