Top 15 Most Competitive Countries – Japan, 8th

The United States regained the top spot as the most competitive country for business based on a report by the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Geneva, Switzerland.

Japan is number 8 and one of five countries, territories in the top 15….Singapore, Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan are the others. 

Switzerland was first last year. Imagine the researchers surprise when their numbers didn't add up and put them in first again this year. Bummer!

Switzerland is second.

5. Germany

6. Finland

7. Singapore

8. Japan

9. United Kingdom

10. Netherlands 

11. Korea

12. Hong Kong

13. Canada

14. Taiwan

15. Austria 

Those nordic countries, eh? Stay away from them if a new business is your game.

China jumped from 54th to 34th due to a "superior macroeconomic environment" says the head of the WEF team.
