The Tokyo Broadcasting System Inc. will begin selling electronic books via a cellular phone Internet site.

The books will relate to TBS television programs. And at one word per screen shot on my cell phone, I wonder, just how many times will I need to hit the scroll button.

How do people read and play games on their cell phone screens?

The web site will be operated by Words Gear Co and Matsushita Electric Industrial.tbs.ebook.jpg

Japan's big three cell phone providers, Softbank, KDDI and NTT DoCoMo will all offer the service.

Scripts from TBS dramas and novels written by guests will be the initial offerings.

Users will be able to buy books for 100-300 yen.

Next up…classes and textbooks offered on student cellphones?
