The Three Best Selling Cars in Japan

Japan's domestic car sales continue to decline – 24 months in a row. The first six months of this year were the lowest since 1975.

However, even when sales are bad, three companies continue to make good.

Toyota Motor Corp. sold four out of the top 10, including numbers one and two.

Honda Motor had three in the top ten including the number three.

Nissan Motor had three in the top ten, including the number four.

3. Honda Fit

4. Nissan Serena

Toyota's Corolla saw sales rise 9.4% to 77,236 units in the first six months.

Compact cars make up about 1/3 of Japan's domestic

market compared to just 13% of the market 10 years ago.

With the redesigned Corolla at the top and growing…it doesn't seem Toyota is too worried about the slump.

Seems to me that as long as a company is keeping market share and/or is growing, there is nothing to worry about.

Toyota, Honda and Nissan are not worrying.
