Takashimaya’s Carat Christmas Cake
Japan does Christmas differently.
The general pattern is to get up, go to work, stop and buy a 'Christmas cake' on the way home, eat it and be finished.
Oh…and Kentucky Fried Chicken can make as much in one day on Christmas as it does the rest of the year.
Why KFC is so popular on Christmas is a mystery.
Takashimaya department store wants to start its own tradition.![]()
The company created a 35cm (14in) high cake with square chocolate base decorated with diamonds – 50 carats (the kind you don't eat.)
The price tag – 100 million yen ($900,000 ish).
Takashimaya spokeswoman said, "someone is likely to buy it," perhaps to impress a female friend.
After all women, love chocolate and diamonds.
Thank goodness we don't eat Christmas cake in the US, eh?
What do you think?
