According to statistics released by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry there are seven main countries that Japan depends on to supply her IC needs and the percentage of overall imports.

They are:

7. China – 5.3% – as China’s skill and technology in this area improves, China is sure to move up the list.

6. Singapore – 6.2%

5. Malaysia – 7.3%

4. Philippines – 8.0%

3. South Korea – 18.6%

2. U.S.A. – 20.8%

1. Taiwan – 23.4%

Japan, though tops in quality, cannot produce all the ICs she needs. America is the only NON Asian member of this group of seven.

PanAsia knows ICs it seems.

What do you think?
