Survey Says! Number Portability Draws Little Interest in Japan

The internet-based research firm, Macromill, Inc. surveyed 1,600 mobile users 15 years or older across Japan. They got responses from 1,030 of them

Just 5.4% said they planned to take advantage of the new number portability – taking their phone number to a new company – system.

Macromill says the number suggests that consumers want to take a wait and see attitude.

Hah! Tell that to Softbank Mobile, NTT DoCoMo and KDDI.

Softbank Mobile saw so many new applications that they had to suspend new applications once on Saturday and then for good on Sunday because they couldn’t handle the deluge.

So, who were the 1,600 people that Macromill asked anyway?

Has Macromill lost any credibilty here?

How much trust should be placed in these internet-based research firms?

What do you think?
