The Guardian unlimited callls it the "Land of the Rising Sum."

Sony Pictures' Spider-Man 3 has smashed a Japan record by raking in 415 million yen, making it the highest grossing film ever, debutting on a Tuesday.

Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dundst and company beat out Spider-man and Spider-man 2 and predictions are that it will become one of the highest grossing movies of all time.

Presently, Spider-Man sits at number seven with $403,706,000 in ticket sales and Spider-Man 2 sits at number 10 with $373,377,000.spider%20man%203.jpg

How high can Spidey climb? Titanic is on top with $600,779,000.

Whatever the movie makes, it won't start seeing black until it beats the $258 million in production costs, also an industry record.

Sony may be having trouble with its PS3, but there's no problem with its superhero making super bucks.
