Sony Corporation's profits are 40 times this year more than what they were last year.

The group net profit is $646.7 million.

Quarterly sales are up 12%.

The winners in the group – the electronics sales.

The losers in the group – game sales…where the red ink was deeper and darker than last year.

Flat TV and digital camera sales – up 21%.

Film unit – back in the black after "Superbad" success

Games lost $848 million.superbad.jpg

Last year Sony lost nearly a half billion dollars due to the recall of laptop batteries.

Sony's music division sold well the albums -  Bruce Springsteen's "Magic" and Foo Fighters' "Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace."

The PS3 will eventually start making money for the company…but in the meantime, nobody needs to feel sorry for Sony.

What do you own that was made by Sony?
