Sony Corp. said it lost 20,833 million yen (abt. $180 million) in the July-Sept quarter largely due to the recall of the faulty battery packs.

Profits dipped 94% and the company made ONLY 1.68 billion yen ($13 million).

Still sales grew by 8.5%.profit and loss.jpg

Imagine the strength of a company that can absorb a worldwide fiasco, lose $180 million in three months and still make a profit and report a growth in sales.

That’s SONY.

Its game division is losing money…its movie division is losing money…its financial services division is losing money.

So, how did Sony come out in the black?

Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications grw 42%!

Like ‘em or love ‘em…Sony knows how to keep the bottom line black.

What do you think?
