Sony Corp. says it will cut prices on the PS3 sold in Japan next week.

A new low-range model will be made available next month.

The 20GB model will be price-cut by 10% beginning October 17th.

The 60GB model will be dropped by $30.

A new low-range 40GB model will go on sale in Euroe and Japan on Nov 11th but NO plans are in the works to sell it in the United States.

Price cuts are in time to meet demand and the competition of the holiday season.

So far, Sony has sold more than 5 million PS3s.ps3.40gb.jpg

Microsoft has sold 11.6 million Xbox 360s and Nintendo has sold 9.3 million Wiis.

But…the holiday season is coming.

Which do you want for Christmas?
