Somali Pirates Demand $1 million for Japanese Ship
The Somali pirates, no relation to the Pittsburgh Pirates, seized a Japanese chemical tanker six weeks ago.

Now the pirates want $1 million as ransom.
The Golden Nori was sailing from Singapore to Israel with a cargo of chemicals when the pirates attacked it.
US warships sank two of the Somali pirates' speedb
oats, then trapped the ship to
prevent it from entering port or getting supplies.
This attack was one of 26 this year by pirates off Somalia's unpatrolled coastline.
The US is leading a multilateral taskforce in counter-piracy operations off the horn of Africa.
The Ethiopian and Somali governments ousted the Islamists who ruled the country in 2006. Ever since, nobody has been able to control the country.
I recommend we just let the pirates go hungry, maybe the government, too.
Maybe then they'll all talk.
