Smiles Get Ratings by Omron Corp.

Omron Corp. is a gadget maker in Japan.

They have developed new technology that will allow users to quantify how much people are laughing or smiling by scanning their facial images.

"Smile! Bigger! BigGER! BIGGER!"

"CRRAACCKK!"

"Okay, that's too much."

By using digital cameras (Sony Camera Detects Smile) and mobile phone cameras users, especially those in theomron.smile.jpg service industry, can check their smiles.

Some 30 items are checked – eyes, mouths, nostrils, dimples, wrinkles…and a rating between 0 and 100 is given…in about 0.044 seconds.

I don't know why it takes so long.

Omron says the new technology can help monitor the mental and physical condition of patients in hospitals, too.

Oh…and there is a yoga instructor in NYC who might like to get her hands on one or more…Facial Yoga in New York.

Does this toy sound useful to you?
