Hakuhodo is an advertising agency in Japan.

The company has come up with a plan to track the purchasing behavior of Japanese consumers.

By having Japanese buyers fill out an anketto on five different stages of buying, the company hopes to come up with its determinant-identifying method…to answer the question at what point did the buyer make their decision to buy a product.

Word of mouth, reviews, product comparisons, brand recognition and such will be analyzed to determine the weaknesses and strengths of a product, particularly in regard to its advertising strategy or lack thereof.buyiing.behavior.gif

Any product can be analyzed for 3-5 million yen. ($25K-40K).

"Let's see, I gave up on this product because it cost

too much," customer said.

"Well, we had to pay the guys who analyzed the fact that you would give up when you determined it cost too much. Next month, it will be cheaper."
