Shootings Hit Record Low

It's good to not hit a target now and then.

The number of criminal shootings in Japan fell 30% last year.

Just 53 people fired a gun at someone else in the country in all of 2006. I think that many people shot at each other last night in Oakland.

Two people died in the shootings, also a record low. Once again, Oakland beats that total in one evening.

Japan has the fewest gun deaths per capita among major developed countries.

However, death by wine bottle and dismemberment are on the rise. Last month a woman beat her husband to death with a wine bottle, cut him up in pieces and then buried parts of the body in different locations in Tokyo after carrying the body parts on the train!

"What's that you got in the bag?"

"I am taking my husband's leg to the park."

I'd rather be shot, I think.

What about you?
