Sending Images to Your PC with a Wave of the Hand

What could be cooler than waving your digital camera or cell phone in front of your PC to transfer images?

Near Field Communication's technology, in cohoots with Toppan Forms Co. is causing Toppan to promise to become the first Japanese firm to develop a contactless smart-card module based on NFC's design.

By holding a cell phone with an embedded module next to a module linked to a computer's USB port, a connection can be established which will capture images and video clips.

Cameras and printers can do the same.near.field.communication.jpg

The modules are expected to cost 1,500 yen and be available this fall (think September).

The Bluetooth technology is another way but requires a password to be entered on a keyboard to prevent confusion.

"Now watch me make my photos appear on that monitor with a wave of my hand…"

"Watch me do it again very slowly."

Does this technology seem interesting to you?
