Researchers Find Commute Time is Worse on the Eyes

Japanese researchers have learned that ultraviolet exposure to the eyes during early morning and late afternoon (think commute time) from Spring to Fall is double that at of mid-morning and early afternoon.

Usually it is when the sun is high that people think they are at risk.

Not so.

Using a sophisticated dummy the Japanese have been able to measure and record the amount of UV-B rays that enter the eye.

So, not only are your eyes still trying to wake up on that morning commute to work, when they do, the sun is at its fiercest.uv.dummy.jpg

And, dog tired from a long day at work is NOT the time to let the sun's rays have their own way.

Call me smarter now…but then my commute is from the bedroom to my office.
