Question # 58 – What other countries are nearby when teaching ESL in Japan?

I touched on this in number 56 but I will say it again here.

Russia, Korea, China (north to south – Harbin, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong), Taiwan, and the Philippines can all be reached in half a day.

From Niigata to Seoul…a couple of hours.

Less than two hours from Niigata to Khabarvosk (Far East Russia and southern Siberia.)

Perhaps you have heard how cold it is in Siberia. It’s true.esl.japan-thumb.gif

They tell jokes in November but nobody laughs until March…when they thaw out.

Harbin and the Ice Festival…

Beijing – Imperial Palace, The Great Wall.

Shanghai, Hong Kong – shopping.

Seoul…Taipei….Manila….Guam, too!

All these places you can leave for in the morning and enjoy in the evening of the same day.

Lots of places to go and they are much cheaper to get to than say from the United States or Europe.
