Question # 52 – What are the people like when teaching ESL in Japan?

Japanese have a pair of eyes, ears, arms and legs. They eat 3-4 times a day, work, go to school, enjoy their time off and like to hang out with friends, pursue their hobbies and otherwise live life fully.

What I want to say is that in a short post like this, the short of it is, the Japanese are people just like the rest of us from whatever country we come from.

They value their families. They are conscientious. Do their best. Expect quality and give their all when they work.

Well…maybe they aren’t like everyone else…hmmm.

I recommend the movie ‘Mr. Baseball.’

I watched it and listed up 110 differences between the Japanese and theesl.japan.gif American that are articulate quite well in that silly flick.

It’s very well done, and perhaps in future posts I will touch on the differences more clearly … as I see them.

But, for now, I wish everyone would look at the Japanese they come in contact with as individuals and treat them such rather than put them in a box and think ‘all Japanese are such and such.’

After all, would you like to live in a box?
