Question # 41 - What kind of fast food chains can I find when teaching ESL in Japan?

McDonalds…very popular in Japan largely because the quality is better than elsewhere.

KFC…yup. KFC failed the first time it went to Japan because the colonel brought his own taste buds. After it folded and went home and waited for a few years, he, the colonel tried again with Japanese tasters, chickens raised in Japan on feed made in Japan = Success!

Pizza Hut, Shakeys…

If you see a fast food store in Japan that you had ‘back home’ try it.

But, it’ll be better.

Better yet, try Japanese fast food places…Yoshinoya and friends.

It’s been a while since I was in Japan and the types of fast food places change, come and go…but if it’s in Japan…chances are its good.

Let me know if you have a bad experience.
