Poor Little Sony Corp.

Everybody should get out there "ahhh!" buttons. Poor little Sony Corp.had to revise their earnings estimate for this year.

Instead of making a projected 130 billion yen ($1.1 billion) Sony is estimating they will only make 80 billion yen ($700 million).

Don’t we all feel sorry for them now?sony.jpg

The downward turn in the estimate, of course, is due to the battery recall. Still, it is easy to see the impact this has had on the company.

Sony Corp. also cut the price for the PlayStation 3 next generation game console and had to make production adjustments for devices for PS3.

Sales estmates remain unchanged at 8.23 trillion yen – that’s a "T".

I learned a life lesson at a bowling alley a long time ago. I was losing and my opponent was up. I wished audibly that he would miss the spare. Two people I respected turned to me and said "Never wish another bowler bad. Work harder to improve your own game."

I don’t wish Sony bad…at all. And other companies should not glory in their misfortune. Rather those companies should strive harder to outperform Sony.

What do you think?
