Paraglider Breaks Legs After Hitting Power Lines

This reminds me of my friend, Minoru. He wants paraglided or was it hangglided (are they the same?) from the top of Yahiko Mountain to his home some 30km away (20 mi.)

Try as he might, he wanted to teach me how to fly and I must say I was tempted to do so.

Now, I know why I didn't.

A 38-year old paragliding dude in Japan hooked a motor up to his rig but forgot to avoid the power lines, got tangled up, lose control and come crashing back down.

Uh…I wonder…what in the world was he doing paragliding in a place where there were powerlines?japan.sea.yahiko.jpg

Yahiko Mountain sits next to the Japan sea. You run, jump, hopefully fly, make a u-turn around the mountain and head for home.

The worst thing that can happen is you fall into the drink…about 600 meters below. It only hurts when you hit the water.

Would you like to fly?
