One in Three Feel Social Security Won’t be There for Them
Almost one in three Japanese (32%) feel the social security system in Japan will not be there for them when the time comes.
The government will NOT be able to sustain the pension system long enough for them to get their money back out they think.
Aflac Japan conducted a survey with Mainichin News to learn that 4% more people feel that Japan's government will not be able to provide for them than those who thought so just two years ago.
Japanese are not afraid of the pension system shrinking, or that there are less
people, but that the pension system itself will be gone when the time comes.
To be eligble, Japanese must pay into the fund for 25 years. Eligibility to start drawing part of their pensions starts at 60. If they wait till 65 they can receive full entitlement.
Nobody thought that people would live so long and there would be so few to support the system when it was set up.
Do you worry about receiving your social security when the time comes?
