He's not a Transformer and kids aren't likely to chase imposters on to the highway.

But, it is 'advanced techonology' that is definitely 'made in Japan.'

Japanese toymaker has created the Omnibot17u i-SOBOT.

The Guinness Book of Records calls it the world's smallest humanoid robot in production.

The little fellow is 16.5 cm (6.5") tall and powered by Sanyo's Electric eneloop nickel-metal hydride rechargeable batteries. (Try saying that real fast 5 times.)

i-Sobot has a 180-word vocabulary and about 200 different types of action patterns.

"Pick up the 5-yen

coin."

"Now put it down."

i-Sobot will go on sale this fall for 29,800 yen ($240)…in time to hopefully catch on for Christmas.

Is this something you would like for Christmas?
