Since the very recent advent of mobile phone number portability, the Japanese cell phone market has seen quite a bit of activity.

NTT DoCoMo just recently lowered is anticipated revenue for the year by 20 billion yen – abt $170 million because they are losing customers.

Now, the company only expects to pull in 4.84 trillion yen – abt. $40 billion. Poor baby!ntt docomo.jpg

The company, however, still expects to make $4+ billion in net profit.

Dang, that’s a lot of money.

NTT DoCoMo is Japan’s largest mobile phone company. And the Japanese love their cell phones.

With mobile phone portability, Japan can expect cell phone users to do a lot of jumping around…and that’s good news for the phone companies.

What do you think?
