Nissan Sees First Loss in 7 Years
While Mitsubishi is making money after a long stretch of unprofitable years, Nissan Motor Co. saw its first year ending in the red in 7 years.
Nissan's Infiniti, Altima and Z sportscars are not able to keep up with its rivals from Toyota Motor Corp and Honda Motor Co.
Nissan has also been slow to offer its version of a 'symbolic' hybrid vehicle. Though not big sellers, car makers that offer such cars are seen to be more earth friendly.![]()
Profits were down 11%.
Nissan's CEO blames the poor performance on "higher raw material costs and a lack of new models."
Yup…Nissan is not making what car drivers want. No mystery there.
